Hall, the Microbiology Building at the University of Maine Orono, through
the Per Cent for Art Program of the Maine Arts Commission, purchased
six monoprints and commissioned six more for a body of work for a permanent
installation titled THE AESTHICS OF SCIENCE. The six purchased works
included images of monocellular organisms already of interest to the
artist, and the six commissioned works were made as part of a collaboration
between the artist and the department heads, who contributed imagery
from their fields of inquiry.
